IT 10-Second Lesson | How a Web Address (URL) Actually Works | Funifytools

1. A URL is a website’s “address,” guiding your browser to the correct server on the internet.
2. The DNS syste acts like a phonebook, converting human-readable domains into numerical IP addresses.
3. Once the IP is found, the browser sends an HTTP/HTTPS request to the server asking for the webpage.
4. The server replies with the requested files, and the browser renders them into a visible page.
5. The full process — DNS → IP → Request → Response → Display — happens in seconds every time you visit a site.
